Adam had a pretty craptastic birthday last week due to some drama within his family. I decided to do something special and totally unexpected for him because honestly he is the most awesome husband and father anyone could ask for. Anyway I planned a surprise trip to Disneyland. Adam and I have a long history with Disney (we were engaged at Disney World, had our honeymoon at Disneyland, and our first family vacation was to Disneyland.) so I thought this would be a fun trip. I decided to leave Eve with my parents since we would only be gone for the weekend. Adam works an hour away from where we live so my parents told Adam that we were going to meet him at work on Friday to take him out to dinner for his birthday. I showed up with the car packed and my dad ended up taking Adams car home. He was so shocked. We headed out that night and I actually drove the whole way there so he could relax. (Pretty impressive since I hate driving.) It was really nice to get so much time with just him. We had a great weekend overall we played all day at Disneyland and took a small break to go to Portillos for hotdogs and cheese fries. Portillos was worth the 6 hours drive from Phoenix. Adam and I really ended up missing Eve on the trip and kept saying we wished we had brought her along but then again we enjoyed have just us time. When she was little it was really easy to leave her but as she gets older she is able to express how much she misses us which makes us miss her. We both almost broke down in tears the first night as she cried uncontrollably at the thought of us not coming home. It took bribing her with "If you are a good girl we will bring you presents." to calm her down. She is extremely spoiled. She scored candy, 2 bracelets, a Tinkerbell baby doll, Disney ears, a Boo in costume baby doll, and a Monsters Inc play set. Eve loves Monsters, Inc. She insists we call her "Boo" and she calls Adam and I Kitty. She could watch that movie nonstop all day. So we had a great time just the two of us but really missed Boo all the while.
